Palo Alto, CA -- Sprint (NYSE: S) today announced that Nauto® has selected Curiosity™ IoT as one of its connectivity providers for its intelligent driver safety system. Sprint will also continue as a distributor for Nauto's rich fleet management products within the United States, including Nauto Coach® and Nauto Prevent®. This expansion of the relationship between Sprint and Nauto gives fleet customers even greater access to Nauto's intelligent driver system enabled by the latest artificial intelligence (AI) technology, fleet management, and safety solutions.
"We are pleased that Nauto has selected Sprint Curiosity™ IoT as a connectivity provider to power its fleet products," said Ivo Rook, senior vice president, IoT & product development for Sprint. "Sprint and Nauto are committed to providing commercial fleet customers with advanced safety and management tools designed to provide intelligent insights into driver behavior, reduce collisions and save lives."
Nauto's intelligent driver safety system is part of Sprint's expanding portfolio of fleet management and compliance solutions, which were announced last year at Mobile World Congress Americas. Nauto allows Sprint's fleet customers to receive in-cab notifications, context-rich coaching, and liability reduction features that provide a measurable improvement in fleet driver safety.
"Nauto and Sprint are committed to providing fleets with the most advanced technology to make driving safer and smarter," said Sanket Akerkar, senior vice president, fleet and insurance business, Nauto. "Today's announcement highlights our continued commitment to providing fleets with a solution that allows safety leaders and fleet managers to improve safety and reduce loss with an artificial intelligence-powered smart system."
Nauto uses AI to provide real-time data to evaluate driver behavior and the external environment, ensuring safe and efficient fleet operation and reducing loss. Each situation is assessed as it is happening through a dual-facing camera, computer vision and proprietary algorithms, and gets the right data to the right people at the right time. This system also includes the ability to detect distraction and risky behaviors, allowing fleet management to identify, stop and coach high-risk drivers through personalized insights. In fact, Nauto has seen real safety results in some fleets reducing collisions by up to 35.5 percent.
